From NJ Turnpike:
Take Exit 13 A. After toll, follow signs for Dowd Avenue. At traffic light, make a left on to Dowd Ave and get into right lane. Immediately after, go through next traffic light and make first right on to Division St. Follow Division St. for about a mile. Go under a railroad bridge, through a traffic light, then a blinking light. St. Joseph’s is on the next corner on the right. Go into the parking lot between the hall and the church. From Route 1 heading South: (From Rt.78, take exit 57 for Rt.1 South) On Route 1 in Elizabeth, follow signs for Dowd Ave. This will take you up a ramp off Route 1. As you go up the ramp, get in the right lane right away, since you will immediately have to take the first exit on your right to Dowd Ave. Go through 2 traffic lights and make first right on to Division St. Proceed as above. From Route 1 heading North: As you come into Elizabeth, stay in middle lane. After passing a McDonald’s on your right, you’ll go over a bridge. Stay in right lane. At the end of the bridge, make a right on to East Jersey St. (Be careful, as cars sometimes come up to Rt. 1 from the right of the bridge ) After turning on East Jersey, go to the fourth traffic light (Division Street). Make a left. You will see a church on the left. Go into the parking lot between the church and the hall. Coming East into Elizabeth Take South Ave. which becomes West Grand St. in Elizabeth. Follow to Broad Street. At Broad, make a right and an immediate left on to East Grand St. Follow East Grand for several blocks. Cross Route 1. At the second traffic light, make a right on to Division St. Go through the blinking light. St. Joseph’s is on the right. Go into the parking lot between the hall and the church. OR: Take 3rd Ave. in Roselle, which eventually becomes West Jersey St. in Elizabeth. Follow for several blocks. You’ll cross Broad St. and the street name will change to East Jersey St. Continue on and you’ll cross Route 1. At the 4th light after crossing Rt. 1, make a left on to Division St. You’ll see the church on your left. Pull into the lot between the church and the hall. |
