We believe that volunteers are the backbone of our organization. They bring a human touch and a caring approach to all that we do. Without the help we receive from our dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to provide our wide range of services. Our volunteers come to us from schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, social groups – and, of course, some are families and groups of friends, eager to help. Volunteer Opportunities
ONSITE Opportunities for individuals or groups (onsite max 8) include: 1. Food distribution: Daily (Mon - Sat) from 9-12; Mon-Fri from 12-3pm 1. Daily Bread Sandwich Program – Daily 2. Farmer’s Market - 4th Friday of each month 3. Community Food Bank Distribution - every 3rd Saturday and 3rd & 4th Tuesday of the month 4. Inventory Allocation & Restocking – 2nd Monday of the month 2. Choice Food Pantry Assistance (Mon-Fri 9:30-3:30) 3. Soup Kitchen – each Saturday, 10am – 1:30pm (maximum 8 volunteers) 4. Adult Learning Center - Computer, Job Readiness, and ESL instructors 5. Special projects (Easter basket assembly, school backpack supplies, etc.) 6. Sorting donations of food and/or clothing 7. Setting up and/or working at our Tag Sales for new clothing items 8. Building maintenance (painting, electrical, handyman, groundskeeping) 9. Office Help - data entry, thank you letters, general office tasks, receptionist 10. Neighborhood Clean Up OFFSITE Opportunities include: Food collections - overall goals on website Sandwich preparation – guidelines on website Giving Tree Coordinators and helpers (holiday gifts) Annual Fundraising Dinner Committee Special projects or events E-newsletter editor/writers Social Media coordinator Photographers Drivers (always needed for various pickups/ drop-offs) |
